Oxygen permeation (OTR)

The oxygen permeation (OTR) of packages, bags, moulded parts or bottles describes the penetration or the penetration rate of oxygen through a solid. There are certain foods that react very strongly to oxygen permeation. To reduce the penetration rate, additives can be added to the packaging, for example. Another possibility is to coat the packaging with materials that have a lower permeation rate. The corresponding permeation rate is indicated.
