No compromises - neither for your product, nor for our environment

Your food product deserves to be packed properly. So that it is protected from all external stresses. But these are by no means all the requirements that food packaging must meet today. After all, you want your product to stand tall and stand out in the market, right? Sustainable materials not only protect our planet, but also signal high quality - just like individual fully printed designs. There's no second chance for a first impression - not even on the product shelf.

Sustainable materials

Our food packaging is not made of just any plastic: we rely on mono-plastic, which is fully recyclable. The recycled material can then be used for new products - this is how we contribute to the circular economy. The raw materials for our paper also come from sustainable forestry.

Low carbon footprint

With our packaging, not only does your business benefit - you also help the environment. Why? Pouch packaging is particularly resource-efficient in production and light as a feather. This means they consume up to 60% less CO2 in their life cycle compared to glass or can packaging.

Planting new trees with food packaging

Environmental commitment

For every 100 paper-based packaging items ordered, we plant a tree with our partner Eden Reforestation Projects. When you buy our plastic packaging, we also support the Cologne-based organisation K.R.A.K.E. e.V., which collects waste from nature.

Our certifications:
As stable & reliable as our packaging

Your food product is natural and strengthening - our pouches are environmentally friendly and suitable for food. The plastic packaging Toni and Martha have been awarded the "Made for Recycling" seal by the environmental and recycling service provider Interseroh+ for their recyclability.

Our paper-based packaging solutions also protect your product - and our environment thanks to their FSC®-certified paperNils protects your food without an inner plastic film and can therefore be recycled in waste paper. Our organic packaging Ben, on the other hand, convinces with its renewable raw materials.

Smartly packaged: save storage and transport costs

You think cans or jars are the ideal packaging for your cereal, spices or baking mixes? We bet against it! Because such forms of packaging are true cost-eaters in transport and storage. Our stand-up pouches have only 1/20 of the weight of jars and take up significantly less volume when unfilled.

Use our space-saving stand-up pouches, reduce your costs and on top of that also the CO2 emissions of your packaged products!

High quality product presentation customized to your preferences

Say goodbye to unprinted packaging with labels - print your Packiro bags with your own designs! With a wide range of special effects, there's no limit to your creativity: Show the natural side of your product with a kraft paper look of your paper packaging or rely on transparent windows to visibly put your food in focus.

Shimmering highlights are no problem either: with us, you can easily integrate metallic surfaces into your packaging designs. Your product is sure to be an eye-catcher on the product shelf!

FAQ about our food packaging
Our pouch packaging is perfect for food of all kinds thanks to the taste- and odour-neutral packaging materials, the pressure seal and the optimum protective properties against oxygen, moisture and UV radiation.

All companies involved in the manufacturing process are also BRCGS Packaging certified. This is how we ensure that your packaging is suitable for food.
Here's a selection of foods you can put in our pouches:
- Granola & Muesli, Oatmeal.
- Dried fruit, nuts, snacks
- Superfoods, spices, tea

Tip: If you want to pack coffee, our flat-bottom pouches with aroma valve are the perfect choice for you.
Our material recommendation depends on the sensitivity of your food. For example, if your product is sensitive to UV radiation, our "Martha", "Ben" and "Robin" materials are the right choice for you.
On the other hand, do your foodstuffs need first-class aroma protection? Then our "Toni" material will convince you. If your product is very susceptible to moisture, we recommend our "Martha" and "Toni" materials. You can find all our material variants with their different protective properties in the table above.
By the way: All packaging is produced under the highest food safety standards by ISO-certified manufacturers.
No, plastic-free does not mean that the packaging is automatically sustainable. This is because not all alternative materials to plastic are environmentally friendly: jars and can packaging, for example, consume more resources during production than plastic pouch packaging. Due to the high weight, more CO2 is also emitted during transport. Moreover, the term "plastic-free" often hides bio-based plastics.
Up to now, there has been no use of recycled plastics in flexible packaging (e.g. stand-up pouches) for food. The reason for this is the risk to food safety, as it cannot be ruled out that harmful chemicals from the recycled materials pass into food.
To rule this out, a "closed loop" must be ensured. Unfortunately, this has only been done very rarely so far, for example in the PET deposit system. However, we are already working on packaging solutions made of recycled materials in the form of shipping bags for the e-commerce sector. Of course, we will always keep you up to date on all developments!
The concrete framework conditions depend on the type of food - however, some legal information is generally obligatory:

▪ Place of origin of the product
▪ Bar codes
▪ Net quantity
▪ Production number
▪ Name and address of the company
▪ Health information (e.g. allergens)
▪ Expiry date
▪ Ingredients and nutritional value for foodstuffs

Please contact us if you need more information about the specific product information on your packaging.
Our "Biobased Ben" material consists of sustainable paper and a biobased protective layer. This inner layer protects reliably and is made from renewable raw materials. Thus, Ben is our ecological variant: with him, we reduce the use of conventional plastic and mitigate additional CO2 emissions.
