The WVTR (short for ‘water vapour transmission rate’) is a characteristic value that describes how much water vapour passes through a material per unit area and time. The value is usually measured in g/m²/24h. The WVTR barrier is extremely important in many packaging applications to maintain the safety and quality of various products. This value is particularly important when packaging coffee, food, pharmaceuticals or electronic products.
