Sustainability

"Made for each other" - your ecological coffee & Packiro pouches

Our packaging protects the environment. Your brand benefits.

For complete transparency in terms of sustainability, we have brought environmental experts on board to test and certify our packaging materials. When ordering, you can simply print the corresponding seals on your eco-friendly packaging. In this way, they provide your customers with easy orientation when making their purchasing decisions. Good for the environment and your brand!

The recyclability of our packaging made of mono-plastic is checked by the recycling service provider Interzero and certified with the "Made for Recycling" seal.

The raw materials for our paper-based packaging, on the other hand, are sourced exclusively from forest regions certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) organisation for sustainable forestry.

Last but not least: our "Biobased Ben" material consists of renewable raw materials. Such materials are tested and certified by the renowned TÜV Austria, which awards the "OK biobased" seal.

Your support with every order

By choosing our eco-friendly packaging, you support the responsible use and reforestation of our forests: For every 100 paper-based packaging items ordered, we plant one tree with our partner Eden Reforestation Projects. In addition, for every purchase of our recyclable plastic packaging, we donate money to the Cologne-based organisation K.R.A.K.E., which frees our nature from waste.

What our customers say

Nikolai HabelCafe Handwerk

"To preserve the quality of our beans after roasting, we were looking not only for packaging that would provide good protection from oxygen, moisture and UV radiation, but also packaging that would ensure that the packaging would provide protection for a long time after filling - thanks to the aroma protection valve, this is not a problem."

Michael HelmlCaffe vom See

"When choosing the optimal coffee packaging, I selected the Martha material. The pouches are sustainable and are 100% recyclable. With the Made for Recycling seal, which I can add during the ordering process in the shop, this is now also visible to my customers.''

Coffee packaging as a stand-up pouch from the "Kumkum" roastery
Erol KivircikKumkum

"The switch to fully printed flat bottom pouches had only advantages for us. Finally, we have enough space for an attractive design and can also include information, such as the origin of the coffee, the preparation method, or the roasting profile - our customers love this additional information and, of course, the great design."

FAQ

You have questions? We have answers!

What is particularly important when packaging coffee?

Coffee contains up to 800 precious aromas - but without the right packaging, these are quickly lost. Besides fast filling, the possibility of roasting gases outgassing and an airtight seal, there are many other points. Here you can find out everything you need to consider if you want to protect your coffee from oxygen, UV radiation and moisture.

Especially with non-locally produced products like coffee, it is important to many customers to compensate for long transport routes and CO2 emissions. With our ecofriendly coffee packaging and the corresponding seals, you can make your environmental commitment tangible for your customers.

No, for technical production reasons, the valve is currently only available for flat bottom pouches. We are currently working on a solution with our producers and suppliers so that we will soon be able to offer the valve for stand-up pouches as well.

Your coffee needs reliable protection from UV radiation and a high aroma barrier. If you're also concerned about sustainability, we recommend our recyclablepack hero Metallised Martha. If you prefer a paper-based packaging, our Robust Robin is a good choice. In addition to paper, it comes with a protective plastic film.

All our pouches are lightweight, space-saving and resource-saving in production, which saves a large amount of CO2 during production and transport. With our recyclable options, the raw materials of the packaging can remain in the material cycle after recycling and be used for new products. The paper of our Robin packaging is made from sustainable forestry: FSC® certification confirms that all environmental and social standards are met in the management of the corresponding forest regions and all other steps in the supply chain.

Our coffee bags can be filled by machine or by hand. You can find more information about this in our magazine article on filling and sealing our pouches. If required, we can also arrange a professional filler for you. By the way: Our flat bottom pouches with pocket zipper have a maximum opening because the zipper is only on the front. This means that the pouch remains permanently sealed at the top edge and filling is easy!
