Spice packaging for a better environment
Spice sachets: Around 80% lighter than spice tins
On the spice shelf, it is noticeable that some manufacturers pack their sweets and snacks in tins or jars. Pouch packaging like ours is much more sustainable. They require much less material during production and are also around 80 per cent lighter than cans. This reduces fuel and transport costs. Thanks to their compact size when unfilled, they are also very space-saving.
Our paper packaging Ben and Robin
For all our paper packaging, we only use sustainable paper from FSC®-certified forestry or other controlled sources. This ensures that our paper-based packaging is produced in accordance with the principles of fair and environmentally friendly forest management. This benefits all of us: your brand image, your customers and the environment.
Our plastic packaging Martha and Toni
With our Toni and Martha plastic packaging, we focus on packaging made from mono-material that can be recycled in the plastic waste. This way, we make the greatest possible contribution to a functional circular economy and protect the environment, which has been certified by the German environmentl expert Interseroh with the "Made for Recycling" seal.

Frequently asked questions about our spice packaging
Which packaging material is best suited for spices?
All our packaging is suitable for filling with spices, as all companies involved in the manufacturing process are BRCGS Packaging Certified. Spices are sensitive to UV radiation and moisture and can change their taste and consistency if not properly protected. For spices, we therefore recommend that you use Martha or Robin. For more information on the protective properties, see the table above.
Why do we recommend bags for spices instead of jars and tins?
The manufacturing process of jars and cans is extremely energy-intensive, so jars and cans are not as environmentally friendly as often assumed. The storage and transport of inflexible packaging such as spice jars is more expensive and also consumes more CO2.
Our pouch packaging consumes up to 60% less CO2 than spice jars or cans thanks to its lower weight & use of resources. The recycling possibilities of our materials made from mono-plastics are excellent and certified by the environmental and recycling service provider Interseroh+ with the "Made for Recycling" seal.
Which add-ons are useful?
If you choose the materials "Transparent Toni" or "Metallised Martha", you can print the "Made for Recycling" seal on your packaging. For Robin, Ben & Nils the FSC® seal is possible. For our biobased packaging Ben, you can also choose the "OK biobased" seal.
Most of our material variants have a pressure closure (zip closure) implemented as standard and are therefore available as resealable pouches (except Nils). If your product will hang on a shelf wall in the shop, we recommend a Euro hole and our flat pouches.
I don't have anyone to create the design for me. Can you do it?
No problem, we are happy to support you in creating your designs. As part of our design service, you can choose between three different packages. You can find more information here: Design service
Where does the production of the spices-packaging take place?
All our flexible packaging forms are produced and printed in Germany and other EU countries. Proximity means that processes can be better controlled and optimised more quickly. Material safety is also always guaranteed. We avoid long transport routes and thus consume less CO2. After all, as a packaging manufacturer we have a great responsibility for our environment and put minimising our ecological footprint on our agenda every day.
How long is the delivery time?
The regular production and delivery time (standard) is 4-6 weeks for our stand-up and flat pouches and 4-7 weeks for our flat-bottom pouches. If you want it to be quicker, you can choose Express (3-4 weeks) or Express+ (10 working days) for our stand-up and flat pouches. The prices for our packaging vary depending on the selected quantity, the material and your desired size. You can see all prices listed transparently in our configurator.
