The balancing act between product protection and recyclability
Although paper packaging is a real bestseller, it often has one problem: it is not always sustainable! The reason for this is that paper packaging is often coated with an inner plastic film. This provides first-class product protection and stability, but prevents recyclability. A more sustainable alternative to a barrier layer made from conventional plastic is one made from bio-based raw materials. However, only paper packaging without a plastic film can be recycled in waste paper.

Robust paper packaging
Our robust Robin is the perfect paper packaging for you if your products need robust protection. Thanks to its inner plastic film, Robin provides ideal protection for almost all products against oils, moisture and oxygen and is still the most stable paper packaging. At the same time, it has a natural paper feel and will impress your customers.
Biobased paper packaging
Our biobased Ben uses a thin plastic layer made from renewable raw materials on the inside. This means that only as much CO2 is released during waste to energy processing as was previously absorbed by the plant. This leads to a better CO2 balance. The material of our Ben may not be as stable as that of our Robin, but it is more sustainable and conserves resources.

Not every product packaging works without a plastic film
Although paper packaging with plastic film is currently not recyclable, it can still be useful in some cases due to its robustness and stability. However, paper packaging with bio-based plastic film is a more sustainable alternative. Especially if:

Frequently asked questions about our paper packaging
Where are the packaging produced?
All our packaging is produced in EU countries. This proximity allows us to better control and optimize processes. We avoid long transportation routes, thus consuming less CO2. As a packaging manufacturer, we have a significant responsibility for the environment and prioritize minimizing our ecological footprint on a daily basis.
How well can the paper pouches be recycled?
Paper can be recycled very effectively when it is sorted in a pure form. The requirement is that no foreign layers of material (such as plastic or aluminum) are adhered to the paper, as these cannot be separated in the sorting facility. Our material Nils does not include a permanently attached plastic film, making it easily recyclable in the paper recycling stream.
From what unit price are our paper pouches available?
The prices for our paper pouches vary depending on the chosen packaging form (flat pouch or stand-up pouch), order quantity, and size. If you have multiple designs, you can take advantage of bulk pricing for the total quantity of a specific size. So, if you order 2,000 packages with the "Nils" material in four designs, you won't pay four times the price for 500 pieces. Instead, you'll pay the more cost-effective price for 2,000 packages.
How do I seal the paper pouches?
The paper pouches, like all other Packiro materials, can be filled and closed by machine or by hand. They can be sealed at the top edge.
When will I receive my ordered paper packaging?
Of course, we strive to produce and deliver your order as quickly as possible. Depending on when you place your order in the cycle and the delivery option you choose, the production and delivery time can range from 10 working days to 7 weeks.
